/sci/, I want to understand the reality better

I've read some pop sci books and watched a few Feynman lectures, but those all feel so very superficial. It almost sounds like fiction. I want something deeper.

Can you get a technical understanding of subjects like quantum mechanics, general relativity, quantum field theory, the standard model, if you haven't studied lower level of physics that much. I've studied some Newtonian mechanics and calculus in high school, but nothing beyond that.

it doesn't matter if it take 5 years or 10 years, I have an excellent opportunity because so much information is available to me right now.

You can't expect to make progress in physics learning if you read a full mathematics book for each new concept needed.

>first day of Advanced Quantum Mechanics

>girl sits next to me. We quickly exchange glances. She smiles at me.

>Fearing that she may have made a mistake, I tell her, "miss, you must be lost. This is quantum mechanics. Women's Studies is the next floor up."

>She gives me a disgusted face and calls me a misogynist, and sits across the room away from me.
What the fuck was her problem?

>constant stream of conciousness

If you took small enough time frames your concsiousness would become discreet. Your brain and body on the most fundemental level are quantum systems. Like everything, it is discreet, not continious.

Do you even know the difference?

Why would you insist on giving merit to a "continious consciousness" over a "discreet consciouss"? Explain?

It seems like you are just making your own shitty half-assed definitions and randomly assigning merit based on some bullshit dogma. Or prove me wrong...

Nope

Do you see know, how ill-prepared you really are?

>Is this a view of supersymmetry?

Nope, all I am talking about is basic relativistic quantum mechanics (special relitivity). Very simple shit. No super-symmetery required. I am not talking about super-symmetery.

I'm interested in the Unruh effect- particle creation in strong gravitational fields. What should I learn? I'm looking for resources on the density matrix, thermodynamics and quantum entanglements. I've found the lectures by Susskind on youtube very helpful.
