why aren't you studying that now?

i've been struggling with this recently. is it just a romantic notion that you should actually love what you are doing? i keep feeling the pull of job security and decent income. i think if i could study anything i wanted, it would be pure math with maybe a bit of physics.

OP here, I get that many of you are feeling butthurt. The main reason I threw out the other students homework was mostly as a precaution. I was cheating and there was definitely some chance that I could have gotten caught. Say the kids homework I took goes to the professor's office hours right after class and he wants to go over a problem. They see the homework is missing and then a few days later it shows up in his mail box. The professor then goes through and finds that I have near identical answers as him. I would have gotten kicked out of school or at bare minimum failed the class. Fuck. That. I would never take that chance. By trashing the other guys homework I reduced the chance of getting caught to near 0. The fact that it also probably helped me by bringing the class average down was just a bonus.

And no, I didn't cheat on exams and had no reason to. I worked hard to learn the material. I just didn't want to do 20 hours of partial fractions a week because my professor was from china and thats how they do it in their communist shithole of a country.

It was really ridiculous. I'm not exaggerating when I say he assigned every question in teh back of the book. Literally every single one. I would want to read the chapter so I could follow along during lecture but instead I was spending hours a night doing the same fucking problems over and over. Thats really what drove me to cheat. If the assignments had been reasonable I would have done them.

Keep talking and eventually leads to going out with friends and this dude coming along. He's socially awkward, loud noises bothered him, he seemed to have trouble talking with people and would occasionally wave his hands around while, I guess, was doing some math in his head.

I would hate to generalize all math students as weird but could I be dealing with an Aspie or some sort of "Rain-Man" kinda thing? I wasn't bothered that much cause I've met really weird people but I was concerned that other people would get REALLY uncomfortable.
