I was dating a girl with a confirmed IQ of 135, it made me extremely envious. But it feels like she'd get so much further if she wasn't so naive and virtuous (by today's standards if you will). But we are both young so maybe she'll become more cut throat, especially since she is in an academic/professional field where cut throat people are probably the most ubiquitous (other than high finance).

so when are ziggers going to face reality and stop the space larp? Roscosmos is a dead end already after it lost the commercial market. Luna 25 is the perfect grave stone

there are 3 rockets in range of Saturn V:

N1: launched 4 times, exploded 4 times
SLS: works, but costs double of Saturn V and is weaker
Starship: launched once, couldn't even get higher than weather balloons or Bezos' rocket

50 year later why can't nobody beat the National Socialist rocket?

I agree, you are too good for this site. The good thing about it is that you don't even need an account to post or delete, so all you need to do is to no longer access it.

That was actually deliberate - the government chose not to fund development of better kerolox engines and to buy RD-180s to keep post-Soviet missile engineers from going rogue. It's pretty much the same reason we invited them to make Space Station Freedom and Mir 2 into the ISS. Merlin, Raptor, and BE-4 being wholly privately developed gave us an escape hatch from that policy when foreign relations changed.

>>12183238
Even if Starship has a 100 ton expendable payload and can't be reused at all, as a wholly expendable TSTO it's still cheaper per kg to LEO than Atlas V or Vulcan. There is no scenario where Raptor works and Starship doesn't.

We should design a space program for Elbonia.
>expendable only, reuse is a meme, just ask the big American minds at ULA
>hydrolox first stage, like venerable SLS and Ariane rockets
>hypergolic boosters, for commonality with the Elbonian Missle Forces
>kerosene / peroxide upper stage, because more oxygens is more better

>former SS Major
>head of the V2 program
>Von Braun's interest in rockets was specifically for the application of space travel, not for killing people. Satirist Mort Sahl has been credited with mocking von Braun by saying "I aim at the stars, but sometimes I hit London
>'Von Braun had a charismatic personality and was known as a ladies man. As a student in Berlin, he would often be seen in the evenings in the company of two girlfriends at once. He later had a succession of affairs within the secretarial and computer pool at Peenemünde'
>He had an affair in Paris with a French woman later in 1943, she was later arrested for collaboration
>Joined the USA, with some of his original team
>His loyal Germans still addressed him as "Herr Professor"
>Worked with Disney to promote a crewed rotating space station and yuge ferry rocket in the form of childrens shows
>literally wrote the book on Mars missions
>put men on the fucking MOON
>A few months later, on occasion of the first Moon landing, he publicly expressed his optimism that the Saturn V carrier system would continue to be developed, advocating human missions to Mars in the 1980s
>Von Braun also developed the idea of a Space Camp that would train children in fields of science and space technologies, as well as help their mental development much the same way sports camps aim at improving physical development
>In 1973, during a routine physical examination, von Braun was diagnosed with kidney cancer, which could not be controlled with the medical techniques available at the time. Von Braun continued his work to the extent possible, which included accepting invitations to speak at colleges and universities, as he was eager to cultivate interest in human spaceflight and rocketry, particularly his desire to encourage the next generation of aerospace engineers.

based doesn't even describe it, this absolute fucking gigachad is one of history's most important visionaries
