Trying to learn chemistry, not having much luck. I feel dumb.

How many molecules are present in 1.5 moles of NaCl?

Is there any way to make math more interesting?

I fucking hate math with a passion, I always have, is there any way that I can make it more interesting and less of a chore?

We are more less concerned with the symbols A, you find out that A + A will give you A showing that the whole thing goes unchanged. It didn’t change unlike commutativity A + B give B + A there is a change. A started the journey in commutativity and A + B gave us B + A and B started the journey after the equality sign. But in the case of idempotency A + A will give you A showing that it goes unreacted. You started with A and you meet A ,the final result is A. Showing that a man meeting a man A + A will produce a man there is no reaction, it goes unreacted and in chemical engineering you have to send the material back to the reactor for the action to be carried out again showing that it goes unreacted. That is how mathematics has shown that gay marriage is wrong because commutativity proves that gay marriage is wrong. Idempotency also proves that gay marriage is wrong. So these are the principles I have used to prove gay marriage wrong in physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and by the grace of God I am the only one that has proved this in the whole world.

Why are academics so stingy? A professor makes almost 100k/year but when it comes to things like conferences, travel, etc., he acts like he's strapped to the bone, like a $20 cab fare would shatter him. Wittgenstein famously gave up one of the largest family fortunes in Europe, Paul Erdos supposedly handed thousands of dollars to a random homeless person, why are today's academics such joyless scrooges?

/sci/, suppose we overcome all logistical problems in establishing a colony on mars, i.e. we have reliable ways of getting food and water, we have reliable shelter. wouldn't a majority of the colonists still die or fall very ill?

from what i understand long stays in environments with a fraction of earth's gravity fuck up the human body even with exercise and change the way microorganisms behave. wouldn't we first need to send animals (primates?) to mars and conduct health tests?

Two hours ago as I was walking downtown I happened to witness what I believe to be a supernova! It was a star that became incredibly bright (1st or 2nd magnitude) before fading back to normal (4th or 5th magnitude). Please forgive my lack of accuracy here. Anyways, I stopped and studied the star as soon as I noticed it flare, and continued to watch it for a minute or so after it had died down. Although there is some atmospheric haze tonight, I am absolutely certain that the incredible change of this star's apparent magnitude was not caused by passing clouds, and it was most certainly a star (not a plane, satellite or anything but a star).

Did anyone else see it? Time of the event was approximately 12:45. I'll try to find which star it was on a chart.

Finished Anki review in 43 minutes -- well within the usual time that takes.

It's now 68 minutes since taking the modafinil.
Pulse is at: 72 BPM

No effects which can't be ruled out as placebo effects, so far. Did this Indian pharmacy send me fake pills?

I will now create 25 new Anki cards from the 3 textbooks and 1 paper which I'm currently reading through. I will report back after.

I like biology, and I think I want to major in it. I would like to obtain a PhD. What kind of career opportunities are there for someone with a masters or PhD in biology? I'm 18 but I'm pretty unsure of all this. I just know I want to go into biology because it interests me. So if someone could maybe guide me a bit, give me some info about the whole field I would appreciate it.
