I'm really curious what direction China's space program is going to go. Long March 9 like a waste of effort with reusable rockets proving themselves and Starship nearing completion.

I think they have a couple companies working on Falcon family clones, but they don't seem very far along.

Source? Everything they've said until now has indicated some time in the 2030s. Maybe Starship is making them antsy, and they decided to go without Long March 9?

If Starship works, what effect do you think it could have on the Chinese moon program? Would they scrap Long March 9 and plan a lunar landing around existing rockets and in orbit assembly? Would they forget about a moon mission until they have a Starship competitor? Would they just stay the course and build Long March 9?

Somebody earlier was asking about future Chinese Moon plans and I just randomly came across this graphic of a Chinese crewed lander design from CAST (China’s biggest state-owned space contractor).
