Wow, lots of misinformation in this thread. Popperian science requires falsification. Scientific claims form a hypothesis, and then test that hypothesis against the null using chi-square or spearman rank coefficient, or other methods.

When Sagan said absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, he's talking about how we haven't even been able to design an experiment to test the hypothesis of human life. Therefore, without evidence to test against the null hypothesis, we cannot claim that the null hypothesis is true.

Where people misapply this concept is when we've already conducted an experiment, and found the null hypothesis to be likely true. They say it's only possibly true! That's asinine lunacy, since, as OP points out, it would invalidate all of our empirical studies. Just like the retarded cousin of this phrase "correlation does not imply causation". By retard logic, it would invalidate all of our empirical studies.

Can we scientifically quantify the harm to mental health and self-esteem using the internet and sites like 4chan have?

Its potentially a distraction often with strings attached that consume time, or energy in some form. We care about dedicating that time and energy to mental functions. We have already worked out in our minds where to place value, relative to typical social norms of the human race. There is no value judgment; its just a simple, neutral observation of human nature, existence, and calculation

Why does modern day science no longer practice scientific race realism? Why don't we in the science community classify negros as subhuman and related scientifically speaking, to the Ape family? I'm not racist because I don't hate the negros but I think of them as a separate species and related to Apes rather than the human species. Which is okay. It's not a bad thing but lets be honest again. They belong in the jungle or in labratories for research not out in human habitats.

>mathematically theres no such thing as an infinity
>take the number 9.999.. where the 9's repeat infinitely
>because of 3.333.. equaling the fraction of 1/3 and 6.66.. equaling 2/3 which means 9.999.. has to equal 3/3 and I'm pretty sure we've all heard that shit
>but that means infinity as a decimal cannot exist entirely, because it's always equal to a certain value
>the defining factor in matters that it has definite proportions
>but theres no clear definition of infinity because mathematically it may have an unknown value.
>also, all matter has gotta come to an end, no physical manifestation can last an infinite amount of years
>the only thing that can reach infinity is the lack of matter
>infinite streams of numbers can be expressed perfectly in a fraction
>if you can treat infinity like a number or a fraction that means its not infinite
>so theres no way to measure a physical manifestation of matter in infinity nor a number
>the only way it can be expressed is in a topological space in which "infinity" would mean something that certain sequences of numbers converge to.

Wormholes are (((possible)))

Also if relativity is real we could make a meme ship with lots of gravity in the front and lots of "anti-gravity" in the back that could theoretically allow FTL travel, although it would annihilate everything in millions of miles around wherever it travels.
