Dating is inefficient
Sex is inefficient
Emotions are irrelevant

I buy 5 of these cloning pods. And a service/maintenance robot. I'd clone myself and use the organs. Replacing one organ every year. Replacing skin. replacing veins, nerves, arteries. Replacing glands. Replacing everything. Enhancing with cybernticis. All of my money.

Resistance is futile.

Forgive me a moment of stream-of-conscioussness, /sci/, but I need to ask this:

If an Artificial Intelligence is ever constructed on a computer, its mind will consist of script lines. Its entire being will come down to mathematics that all boil down to 1s and 0s; ons and offs; ifs and ors. This entity will be summed up as math.

The thing is, currently, video games have just such things in them; entities and beings summed up as math. While hardly as complex as a thinking entity, they can produce novel behaviours, and those that are proceduarlly generated do so by means of something that might even be called their equivalent of a genetic code.

So, does this mean that killing video game characters is the equivalent of squishing flies for fun?

More poignantly, if an entity can be described through math, and the change in mathematics, could equations done by hand on a sheet of paper (disregarding how mind-fuckingly long it might take for some) represent the sum of an entity? Could you put a snapshot of a being on paper? By following through equations based on stimuli, could you effectively compute the output of such a being? And if so, does that mean that your sheets of paper are a living entity (or at least a part of one)?

>Implying a machine would not see the cold logic in his words

Also the reptilian brain carries useful instincts unlike the midbrain, responsible for hippie emotionality.

Only heartless instinct of the neuron and the disconnected logic of silicon can allow us to endure.

But dark energy is just some force that expands space. We have no idea were it originates from, how it is created, or how to manipulate it. I mean I'm not going to stick my head in the sand if they have even a billion in one shot to make it work they should try it. It will make our universal conquest easier if they pull it off. But in the mean time we should continue with plan A, berseker probe spamming.

And I still don't think that it would allow species to unify into a true type 3 civilization just because of the amount of energy used. Indeed to use ftl with any regularity you would need so kind of scifi free energy bullshit, using the casimir effect or something. So to run one highly suspect technology, you would need another highly suspect technology. I just can see either one ever being practical.

Philosophizing concerning "what it means to be human" is a waste of time. Fuck philosophy, this is /sci/. Lets use a codifiable defination of human based on phylogeny. If you are descended from homos sapiens sapiens, you are human whehter mechanical or organic. If your not you are a filthy animal or a xeno fuckwith that deserves only extermination. We have a chance to completely seperate humanity from all other life if we do this right. Then it will be harder for anyone to be a bleeding heart for the inferior creatures of the universe.

To become more powerful, man must take on aspects of the machine. To crush the cosmos under his heel, man will shed the flesh, but the hatred and greed that has always driven him will remain. It is the will of God the man slaughter his way across the stars, you know this to be so.
