Depends on the program. For example, UWaterloo has an acceptance rate of 52%, but I assume that's because of deferrals to other programs.

CS co-op at UWaterloo has an acceptance rate of around 10-13% IIRC.

UofT CS has this thing where you have to declare it in second year or at the end of first year or something, so you can't say "I'm in CS" until that happens.

A lot of weeding out happens in these universities.

Bottom line: Canadian universities are easy to get into, as long as your Grade 12 average is high, but hard to get out of due to "weed-out" courses. Keep in mind they are also public universities, unlike prestigious American universities which are all private (with the exception of Berkeley, I guess)
