A question for med anons

So I'm kinda retarded/air headed, have the attention span of a cat at a laser party and have little mental stutters that cause me to butcher jokes, spill spaghetti instead of delivering cool opportune one liners and repeat big chunks of sentences unconsciously.

I was perscribed adderall when I was younger to help me focus in school, but I only really got an hour/hour and a half of good focus before i crashed and the side effects kicked in and beat my ass. It also made the stutters alot worse after it reached its peak.

I no longer take it but I noticed that I get similar levels of concentration when I drink alcohol or take in sativa dominant strains of cannabis.

Yes yes I know, but I'm curious as to what specific things cause the 'concentration'. Is it a chemical in my brain being released when I become intoxicated? Is it just a warped perception of reality? I'm just tired of being a doofus. And I'm not sure if its fixable or if I was just born this way.
