I'm currently studying engineering, but I'm not interested in the practical applications of shit, so I'm thinking about switching to pure physics.

Please share your experiences of how it's like studying physics or engineering.

I don't give a shit about finding a job or not afterwards, have a nice job I can fall back to.

Since /sci/ is most likely the most educated board on 4chan, I decided to go here.

I'm currently a high school senior, and am stressing a bit over college. People are telling me to calm down but basically I just want some reassurance . I applied to University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and I really want to go there. However a lot of people are saying I'm above it. I'm going for Economics or International Business, not engineering or anything, but it's still a great school for that. I've also considered University of Chicago. Anyway, here are my stats:

4.0-4.2 GPA (It's very confusing at my school and I'm not sure about it, but it's somewhere in that range)
32 ACT score
80 hours of volunteer work my freshman year
Steady job for 2 years at the same place
Math Team, Student Government, and 2-3 other academic extracurriculars
No sports actually at my high school but swam for a local YMCA

I'm probably not Harvard material or anything, but do I have any reason to worry about the UIUC app, and are there any colleges that might be a better fit for me that you know of?
