What's with all the motherfuckers acting as if you would need to SIMULATE or REPRODUCE the ENTIRE HUMAN BRAIN to make an AI that can do things a human brain can do? That is completely wrong and obviously so.
For example, a human brain can perform addition and subtraction. Do we need to construct a perfect simulation of an entire human brain to make a machine that can do addition and subtraction? FUCKING NO. We can do it easily and simply with very little hardware.

The same is true for any arbitrary task that the human brain can perform. The human brain is not very efficient at any specific task. It's pretty good at general tasks, but it's not even that efficient at general tasks. The best that can be said about it is that it works and it can do a lot of very different tasks.

For an AI to destroy humanity, it would only need to have a small number of abilities, and be able to do them much better than a human. That is not farfetched at all. Hell, look at the current state of the stock market. It's already pretty much completely dominated by AI. Large parts of many industries, from marketting to data collection to even law enforcement are largely handled by AI these days.
There are many ways that an AI could have a certain set of capabilities, and, due to some minor mistake in the design, end up performing various actions that result in all of humanity dying horribly. There is absolutely no need for that AI to be anywhere near a "simulation of the human brain". Hell, a scenario like that could hypothetically happen on a modern supercomputer.

I don't understand anything that is being discussed here, yet I still post my opinions in a condescending manner and act like I know what I'm talking about in every thread.
