Would adding reduction gearing to turbopump driveshafts make them more efficient?

Newer jet engines use reduction gearing between the turbine and the fan disc.

Yes. Most people who have exposure to dust from their work only get symptoms after a long period of exposure, such as black lung, silicosis, or berylliosis. One exposure where you noticed this won't cause any issues, but it could sensitize you to further attacks.

It has an incredibly low burnout rate. I agree, I could only look at skin for so long, but the people who do derm make a great living and have great hours.

Bro, we got a class 3 for free from our regional association and it worked just fine. Unless you are currently doing cardiology it won't matter. You aren't looking for subtle shit as a medical student and no attending will yell at you for missing something subtle.

Also, as a rule of thumb, assume your classmates are retarded until proven otherwise.

>"Democrats don't want our children to succeed, they would actually feel better if France one day bests our kids on that test," Boehner said, unaware that, by tying Slovakia for 16th, France already does outrank the US in math. "Time after time, Democrats refuse to acknowledge American exceptionalism, and they're doing it again by trying to deny our children another tool for success."
>France already does outrank the US in math.

Here's a happy thought.

Earth is 4.5 billion years. 4.5 billion years from now, the Sun will enter its red giant phase.

We are living in the middle of Earth's life.

I like reading the odd astronomy news article. A gamma flare here, passing comet there, galactic collisions, what have you.

But they're always written as though these things are happening *right now*. Most of these cosmic events take place many, many light years away; the most impressive ones having necessarily happened thousands of years ago.

Is this just a deliberate oversight on the part of the news journalists to make things seem more exciting? Why is the lag between the event and the time the light reaches us never mentioned?
