Define the group [math] G=\{0,2,5\} \cong\mathbb{Z}_3 \text{ via the isomophism } \phi :G\rightarrow \mathbb{Z}_3 \text{ where } \phi(0)=[0],\ \phi(2)=[1],\ \phi(5)=[2] [/math]. Then 2+2 is indeed equal to 5.

The good thing about this lock down is that it makes eating less a lot easier.

Go blow yourself up in Mecca, or at the Dome of Rock in Jerusalem.

Three logicians are sitting in a restaurant. After they have eaten, a waitress comes to offer them coffee or tea and asks if they all want coffee. One of them says he doesn't know, so does the second. The third one then orders them all the drinks they wanted.

Which of the two choices did the first two logicians want?

Non-American here.

Not too well. I had a lot of problems with even finding roots for polynomials of second degree. My high school was perhaps a bit too much oriented towards liberal arts and offered no knowledge about any math competitions, not that I'd had any reason to be in one. We all had to choose between advanced and basic math as we signed up for the school, I took the advanced, which was probably the best choice I've made in the last 10 years, but it made life harder those days, sometimes even a lot harder.

Ironically the summer after graduation, BOOM! It all started to make sense. I first thought I'd become a philosopher and tried to get into uni studying that, had to go with the backup plan of engineering, got bored after two years and now I'm majoring math. No longer that painful but fun, interesting and stimulating - or maybe I'm just masochistic.
