how do I find the inverse of x^3 + 3x

I realized today during calc that I can't find the inverse of cubic polynomials, and the internet isn't much help.

can somebody point me in the right direction

Hi /sci/.

I need a method to find the lowest positive integer r, such that <span class="math">10^r \equiv 1 (\textup{mod } p)[/spoiler], where p is a given prime. Brute force searching isn't fast enough here.

It's for Project Euler, Problem 26, if anybody is interested.

Thanks.

Ok, /sci/

Thought experiment for you, suppose that a gas giant orbits its star within the habitable zone, and that there are two earth sized moons. Both capable of supporting life and intelligent life developes on both moons, and the life had similar ambitions as humans, what do you think would happen?
