i attended MIT during undergrad years.

you won't get in like that. everyone who applies is up the same river.

you have to do something special, i've said that before on here. having a high academic standpoint with involvement in clubs/community-related matters and competitions does add bonus points to your application. you need to actually do research and contribute to whatever you plan on majoring in.

for STS, you're best with a CS-related project. pretty much every paper out of that competition is CS-related, or some garbage astronomy paper with absolutely no mathematical/empirical background.

i have absolutely no idea why you would even consider doing some garbage 'project' (this isn't even considered research), when you could be spending your spare time actually learning content in the field that interests you so you have knowledge and preparation for graduate-level research in your undergrad years. you will actually contribute to the scientific community this way as opposed to wasting your time.

>Personally I have always believed that people who spend their time bringing down other people are doing so because they don't have the ability to prove themselves to be impressive human beings so they just try and cut everyone else down so they look a bit better.
