Many things considered "myth" could actually be scientific and explainable if scientists didn't turn their cheek the other way, such as souls, potentially, we could focus on developing tools capable of measuring them after a person's death and prove their existence, likewise prove the existence of continued consciousness after death and hence ghosts, yet if you tell that to any scientist out there they'll simply put their hands on their ears and blind their eyes and say "No, that isn't possible, period" without actually having the spirit to try so, why anon?

A soul, like pretty much all of the other religious/mystical aspects of existence, isn't a fantasy, magical thing that happens out of nowhere and exist for the sake of it, it has a scientific explanation, you could think of it as like some sort of free-floating, bodyless consciousness akin to a spirit that roams around, invisible unless it possesses a body at the time of birth
