/sci/ I have a quick question.

Is getting a master's degree in EE worth it at all for me? I'm going in directly from undergrad without an undergrad degree in EE (I have a degree in Comp. Engineering Tech, aka babby trade school tier engineering). Will my lack of EE background in undergrad fuck me? Will a master's degree price me out of most jobs? What's a good specialty to go for? I was thinking power engineering.

How much are you actually expect to know for an entry level engineering job?

I mean, I've done decently in most of my classes, but to be completely honest the only thing that I retained long term are my programming/MATLAB classes.

In a thousand years from now will engineers and physicists still be taking the calc 1-3 sequence, along with differential equation and linear algebra, along with maybe a babby complex analysis class and some numerical/statistical methods?

At what point will all of that advanced math being studied at the graduate level find its way to being useful in an applied setting? When it does, will undergraduates be capable of studying it, or will four year degrees in the future become six or seven year degrees simply by the virtue of how much more advanced their undergrad math education will have to be?
