OP I really don't mind helping you with your homework, as I have nothing else to do, but I am going to tell you the truth. You really shouldn't be studying the calculus yet. I saw this all of the time back in the day when I used to "tutor" people. I have one question though, why are you taking calculus? Is it for the prestige, college acceptance, or because you felt you should?

I'm deeply fascinated by chemistry and drug synthesis and recently read about amygdalin and was wondering if it was possible to extract it in an environment like a normal house or a basic lab, also how many bitter almonds are needed for it, even if you just don't extract it?

Does anyone knows other substances you can freely synth at home? I recently produced my homemade soap and it was awesome and wanted to synth something else.

Our universe can be modeled with four-dimensional spacetime; that is, there are three space-like dimensions and one time-like dimension.

But is it possible to conceive of a universe with two or more temporal dimensions (regardless of the number of spacial dimensions)? Are we capable of imagining time that behaves like this? What kind of properties could a universe like this have?

Hello /sci/ I was wondering if you could help a brother out

I need help finding the exact area of the surface obtained by rotating the curve about the x-axis

9x = y^2 - 27, 3<=x<=7

Failing miserably here, many thanks in advance

Hello /sci/

How much consideration do grad schools give to upwards trends in GPA vs. consistently high GPA when they receive applications?

My GPA in my first two years was roughly 3.2ish but my GPA in my last two years is 3.85/3.9

Im applying to law school so obviously the LSAT score is important too but I'm only concerned with my grades ATM...anyone else been accepted based on an upward trend in GPA?

A person tosses a ball from the ground up into
the air at an initial speed of 10 m/sec and an
initial angle of 43

off the ground.
What is the component of the velocity of
the ball in the horizontal direction just before
the ball hits the ground? Assume that both
velocity components were positive when the
ball was first thrown

how is this not negative 7.3 m/s

You needs time to assimilate the aliments (caffeine in that case).
So immediately after...
Never mind, I'll grab my old statistics notes and come back with answer (even through I think we lack the population's fluctuation of heart-beat)

I have an exam in multivariable analysis this thursday, and an exam in quantum mechanics this saturday.

I've slept between 2-6 hours this week, had almost no apetite at all....what do?

Hello, /sci/.
Why are smart men so hard to find? I know there are many, but they're hard to find, and to keep. The smartest one I found was gay. And if they are smart, they are shy as hell, or not good looking at all. Why!? I guess this is kind of science related.

Pic related, it's MFW smart men are hard to find. And yes, by smart I mean other characteristics too.

Can someone explain how exactly objects are in contact, at either a quantum mechanical level or in an accurate classical way

for example if you have say a large plane of copper and have another small strip of copper, what exactly is the difference between when they are in contact and when they are separated by 10um of 'air'?

How does the indeterminacy principle tie in with relativity (namely, nothing be able to travel greater than c)

If you measure a particle's position very accurately, and then a time T later, measure it's momentum very accurately, you can limit the position of the particle to within a c*T meter radius of where you first measured it, because we know it is impossible for said particle to have moved faster then c in the time interval T.

Why is it so controversal that intelligence is heritable? Is it just because of racism?

Everyone knows and acknowledges that athletic potential is largely inherited, why are some people opposed to the fact that intelligence is much the same?

Is it feasible to eventually have AA nuclear powered batteries?

I've just been reading a lot of science fiction shit and I've been wondering how (if possible) you would cool them.
