Hi /sci/

#1 reason why I can't get accepted into a PhD program at local universities is funding. Most departments have N phd students who are TA/RA and until they graduate, there is no room for me.

So, I was thinking... What if I write (co-author) a research grant that would pay for my education and provide an opportunity to do research. This is obviously the job of a professor but if they're busy/content with the current state in university, perhaps something like this would push them to get more funding.

Is this a feasible idea? I have M.Sc. in related field. More importantly, is this a good idea?

It's the experience that counts, not what you read.

Get off your ass and go somewhere.

Wow you guys are so smart, how did no one else notice this before?

Maybe we can realize that thinking is just a bunch of synapses and stop thinking as well.

It's not feared, Americans just understand the logical arguments against communism and reject it, after historical documents such as the venona project were revealed after the cold war it was proven that McCarthy actually underestimated the problem by a wide margin, of course a few bad apples stir up emotions into politics bla bla. Whatever the faults of Americans this doesn't mean realizing the flaws in Marx's theories is a bad thing. I'm not sure what point you are implying here. I'm just being a logical objective scientist that's all.

Either explain this bullshit in a concise logical manner or you're a hippy.

What a lively debate, I am proud to be a part of /sci/.

Econ has made some legitimate points about the utility of economics.

The mad guy also has put forward legitimate criticism of the fragility of assertions based purely on observational and not experimental evidence, especially when economics is open to abuse by agenda driven political entities.

So, if you 2 were to agree on anything what would it be?
