Someone who settled on an easy major.

To me, English has always been a stone's throw away from any other humanities majors, only more pretentious since you're into literature, and your profs instill in you that you're more cultured than others. After all, they (presumably) won't flat-out tell you that your degree is functionally a quality toilet paper unless you use your knowledge to become some successful writer (or a teacher/professor etc), so instead, they puff you up and make you feel like you're learning something actually important and indispensable in order to try to keep you from switching majors.

I'm not trying to directly say your degree is worthless, just that for whatever reason, statistically for people who get that degree, well, it's useless. Every English major I knew from uni (over a dozen) works some random odd job not at all related to English. It's just an anecdote sure, but has anyone else here ever known an English major that went on to be a major success in something English-related? Some of the ones I know have now since written plays and such, but still they do that as merely a side-hobby affair.

Switch majors if you can. Don't get fooled by your nice profs and advisors.

Masterbation: Does everyone here do it?
Do you feel any side effects that impair your studying? I have masterbated since I was a young boy (around 8) and notice that if I fap before I go to sleep I seem to have a less productive day the next day. Do you think there is any validity to that? I am taking SSRIs for depression and Adderall for "ADHD".

I've just finished the second year of my mechanical engineering course, and now I must choose whether to follow on with mechanical or mechatronics (the first two years of study are the same).

I would probably enjoy mechatronics over pure mech, but I've heard that pure mech will have lots more job opportunities than mechatronics, and there have been times where mechatronic degree holders will be competing for pure mech jobs with pure mech graduates.

Should I follow my heart or follow the money?
