Seriously, though, if we get into polygamy for the use of creating and raising successful children, it breaks down to this:

MEN:

Option 1: Find and fuck as many women as you can support (taking into consideration the children they will bear).

Option 2: Be mostly monogamous to one woman, but invest in a backup woman/fool around every once in a while.

WOMEN:
Let a man with good genes knock you up and settle down with a man with a lot of resources to raise your kid, not necessarily in that order.
