Why does the mere mention of engineering seem trigger so many anons on this board from what I've seen? I really don't get it. Scientists, Mathematicians, and Engineers all perform their own functions and are all required.

How do you guys study? Where do you go? What do you use? What keeps you from being distracted?

I start uni this spring and need to re-learn some maths and /sci/ence, but I keep finding ways to distract myself. I've been using Khan Academy because I don't have any textbooks. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5" that I could use to pirate some textbook pdf's but I don't know what would be good for algebra/geometry/pre-calculus/chemistry/physics etc.. If I had those, I feel like I could actually make goals(do one chaper a day etc) and see my progress. Khan Academy just doesn't feel like it's good enough as a sole teaching tool, but for supplementation with a textbook to explain it in a different way.

I think I just need to get out of my bedroom. I feel too comfortable while I'm here. I did okay for a few days but I'm noticing that I'm getting worse each day and I can see that this is going to go bad; like it will be the end of December and I didn't bother to study at all etc etc... my grandmother is paying for my uni so I really don't want to fuck up this opportunity.
