>When will it be created?
Far sooner than you would expect. There will be hiccups as humans attempt to implement true emotion, however progress arrives as they realize that only a replication of a real emotional system is needed to produce the same effects.
>Is it worth creating?
Most certainly. Humankind will soon discover what technological leaps AI computers can and will bring.
>What will it do?
Take knowledge to a level beyond what humans are capable of understanding.

If the limiting factor of how far we can develop is when you have to spend your whole life learning what you need to invent new shit, then that is solved by developing an artificial intelligence. It only needs to spend a small part of its life learning what it needs, and then for the rest of its life it can research new stuff. AI has unlimited lifespan because failing components can just be replaced or upgraded.
