What’s the quickest way to raise your IQ? I somehow matched with a PhD Comp Sci and Math student on Hinge, bust I’m scared I won’t be smart enough for her. She says I’m very attractive and is excited to meet me. I can’t fuck this up. My current plan is to spend the next two days solving rubix cubes and reading the classics. Any other tips

Did the universe have a beginning? Like if it didn't and went backwards infinitely then how would we have ever reached today if there is an infinite amount of days before today all the way to the beginning?

>friend says universe can't possibly be infinite
>tell him he is stupid of course it's possible we just don't know
>he says it can't be because we would never have reached today if there was an infinite amount of days before today
>tell him he is stupid again and leave
Um...is he right or wrong though? It doesn't feel right but it sounds right

Do CS students share classes with math undergrats in your cunt?
In Germany at my local university, we share

1st Semester
- Analysis I
- Linear Algebra I

2nd semester
- Analysis II
- Linear Algebra II

3rd semester
- Statistics

4th semester
- Numerical Math
- math as a choice class (you don't have to)

5th semester
- math as a choice class (you don't have to)

it is even possible to just get a math degree as a CS student here lmao

I feel like in other countries CS is less about math, is that true?

How can some chemicals / other things be carcinogenic but not mutagenic?

This has never really made sense to me. If the mechanism of developing cancer is via genetic mutations (introducing changes to the DNA sequence) then how can the source of the genetic mutations only cause cancer but not other genetic mutations.

So I went on a deep dive on some of my old undergrad class members, and when I looked into those pursuing PhDs or post-docs, I found that labs focused on molecular biology, cell bio, medical research, and genetics are massively female dominated. It's also widely known that medical students these days are predominantly female.

My observation is anecdotal, but I've seen this trend in many labs over the last 5 years. Why is this the case? What are the consequences, if any, of this?

From you own experience, have you found a similar dynamic? I currently work in pharma, and I've found that almost all office jobs departments in this industry are female dominated, but probably only to a 60/40 ratio.
