not a troll thread. i seriously want us to contemplate the possibility that

(gasp)

pi = 4

a points system of plotting the circle accurately converges on a theoretical limit curve that is a perfect circle. one cannot, however ever reach this perfect circle, as one cannot calculate pi to the infinite decimal point.

much like you cannot calculate pi to the infinite decimal and thus cannot have a 100% accurate representation of pi, you cannot subdivide the scale of your points to an infinite degree, and therefore cannot have a 100% accurate circle.

however, unlike the inaccuracy of using pi, the data points can always be definitively proven, as the points are absolutes.

in conclusion, it is arguable that while neither is a 100% accurate representation of a theoretical perfect circle, the points system can be proven definitively that every data point is 100% accurate, while a circle plotted with pi is <100% accurate.

anyone got a rebuttal?

Why is there no continuous map from a closed ball in n-space onto its boundary which leaves the boundary pointwise fixed ?

You meet a woman in a park who says, "I have two children, and at least one of them is a boy." What is the probability her other child is a boy?

If something is true for all elements in a sequence it is also true for the limit.

1/2>0
1/3>0
...
1/n>0 for every n
So
