If you have a system with no energy added and no extra energy found after, or would it be that massive energy was added to the system by pulling the string? Unfortunately, conservation of angular momentum is wrong! It does not hold! If the conservation of angular momentum in fact did hold, then every professor pulling a string would generate enough power to electrify their neighborhood. Unfortunately we don't have professors standing around pulling strings attached to spinning balls with mass; instead we have power plants because angular momentum is not conserved.
