GLORIOUS /sci/entists, I present to you the very clean and efficient, Ocean Thermal Energy Technology.

This looming tower that is floating so vertically in the roiling waves of the ominous ocean may come off as a waste of space, but the technology is actually a very useful heat engine.

The temperature difference at the surface of the ocean and the bottom of the ocean creates a gradient in which mechanical and work can be extracted from. Where does the temperature difference come from? Well, the sun of course! I have connected the platform to the grid, or what I think is the grid...fix it if I did it wrong.
