>just got into Carnegie Mellon for robotics masters (MRSD), obviously no funding
>Two weeks to make my decision

Two very different routes my life could take...I'm not crazy to turn down CMU.. right?

>Get Awarded PhD Stipend
>$45k a year
>have to live in Palo Alto
>literally turning down 90k/yr out of grad salary, and after two years and a MS, 110k/yr salary

How do I cope? Can I even really live on 45k/yr for five years? I want to buy a sports car. I want to fly planes. I want to start a family.

what is the frontier of math today and does anyone have a good chart telling how to become a good at math, to basic up to the advanced stuff? Help me, nerds.
