as a black man once said, without pain there would be no pleasure

as an agent once said, human existence is defined through pain and hardship

it's funny how pain can be so unbelievable in the moment and doesn't seem real...yet when we look back on it as a memory, it doesn't seem that bad..

No, cities and towns will just renovate themselves and progress accordingly to how wealthy/what part of the world they are in.

OP, don't confuse yourself with theorems and bullshit trying to find ways around this silly problem. 0.999... is not equal to 1. If you can't see why, then you clearly cannot think logically enough to understand a concept a 1st grader can. There is no special way or secret passage to understanding and solving it, because there isn't one in the first place, only the pages and pages of bullshit people try to come up with to prove something that doesn't need proof.

typical Christan trying to emphasize "faith" as a common ground for other reasons why people live. Shouldn't you be praying or something?

you're talking to someone who is getting their BA in physics from one of the best UC's in the spring. in high school I got Fs, Ds and Cs, felt like the biggest underachiver cuz i knew i could do it i was just SO fuckin lazy and played video games instead. i realized fuck it, im going to major in physics i dont even give a fuck what people say.

I was so determined to prove myself and my family that I could actually do it that i changed, and it was amazing..i always felt like I was the people who couldn't do it and hear people say "if i could do it you can" and be like no dude, i cant do it i just cant. you can do anything you want man, if you have the internet then you have unlimited knowledge to anything.

It is not enough to have the time, but to MAKE the time. Remember that.

HO-LY FUCK

You are literally the exact copy of me. I took (and dropped) a CS class when I realized it was not for me, and I'm planning on majoring in physics, although I have no background in it not even in high school and I'm still a freshman at college.

I'm actually planning on getting a minor in accounting as well, for safety and backup. My mother is an accountant who worked from home so I definitely know how it is and it's not very scary to me. When I watch MIT and other school's lectures on physics it can be a little intimidating considering I sometimes have trouble understanding even Alg 2 concepts, but fuck it man dream big hopefully I can transfer to UC Berk and get my major there.

I FINALLY have started getting my study habits under control, and now I have an extreme desire to learn...it's amazing. GL bro!

Yo /sci/ math genius here having some trouble that was the last question on my Intermediate Algebra final last week..really starting to bug me.

I can solve most logarithmic problems but for some reason I was completely stuck on this on:
0.2^x+1 = 3^x (sorry for no jsmath)

I put it into (x+1)log0.2 = xlog3, divide the 0.2 and get x+1 = x * -0.683 but the x variable will cancel out either way.. is the question a nonreal answer? I know there can't be a common base either..any help? For the final I just said nonreal, probably got it wrong though.
