These ain't little billiard balls you are dealing with here. Colliding protons is basically just colliding quarks, which are point like objects. At the LHC we collide bunches of protons, head on, hoping that some of the quarks hit each other, most don't.

The atmosphere collides protons all the fucking time, at a variety of fucking angles. The amount of head on proton-proton collisions from the atmosphere is greater then the amount of head on proton collisions in the LHC (by many many many orders of magnitude).

On a energy scale, it is pretty much like the LHC doesn't even exist, as the energy compared to even just head-on atmospheric proton collisions is so much more greater.

However, the superposition and probablistic nature will still end up getting scaled out as size increases. By the time you get to the scale of the cat, you will have probablities that are so fucking small they are for all praticle purposes 0 (or so close to 1, they we say they are certainity).
