Overpopulation is not a problem, and won't be for 100 years.
We know exactly what technologies we'd have to use to support 25 billion people. The problem of overpopulation truly arises when you DON'T know and you need a solution immediately. To deal with the extra people we're going to have to change how we do agriculture, industry, and energy production. So, vertical farms, underground factories and LFTRs.

Cut that to half and I'll agree with you.

I'm more worried about overpopulation from universally accessible life extension. Yes, there will be population control measures such as one child per couple or sterilization after treatment, but the population is still gonna grow and we'll have to expand into the solar system and then galaxy.

Problem: Scarcity of resources/energy

Solution: Increase research and development in anything relating to automation, when developed enough automate as much as humanly possible, and scrap the standard supply and demand and go with 'supply enough so demand can never exceed supply.'

Start asteroid mining for endless building materials, widespread LFTRs and space based solar for near-unlimited amounts of power, and educate the populace critically in order to maintain and continuously improve the society around them.
