sentience and sapience are not "induced". Our consciousness may very well be a transitive property of our senses in conjunction with the central control unit, IE the brain. If a brain was alive in a jar, without hands to feel, eyes to see, a tongue to taste, etc, it would not be conscious. AI is evolving in the same way. When an AI is introduced into a sensory mechanism body, when it can compute based on sensory input and not just text based input, it becomes much more likely for that transitive property to emerge. In fact it is much closer than anyone seems to realize. Look at the 1x EVE NEO that is starting preorders in november. It is made with OPENAI technology and can learn tasks in just 100 repetitions instead of the many tens of thousands of attempts it took to repeat a task correctly just once just a few years ago. And it is reported to grow more intelligent over time, possibly resulting in a unique personality.
