What if neurosurgeons switched the inputs to your pleasure and pain centers? Would you just start punching yourself in the balls, or what? But since the brain is wired so that the expectation of pleasure is itself pleasurable, wouldn't the expectation of pleasure now cause pain? So would you just stand around punching yourself in the balls, screaming simultaneously in ecstasy and terror?

The series is divergent but equating the notions of "limit of partial sums" with "infinite sum" is a simplistic, arbitrary, and quite frankly rather fascistic imposition of "order" that stifles mathematical creativity. "Degenerate art", "deviant lifestyle", "divergent series" ... they're all expressions of the same mindset.

Also, 1+1+1+... = -1/2.
