I am starting to think the Flat Earth Society does not represent any flat Earthers and is there to make them look stupid.

Convince me the Earth isnt flat.

OK so seriously, I want to be open minded and hear the scientific reasoning behind flat earth theory, I want mathematics and physics proofs of this theory.

Can /sci/ create a simple meme to fully disprove Flat Earthers?

I was thinking along the lines of constellations, however they already have Southern hemisphere science deniers. Travel times over their warped land masses would be interesting, however it would have to be explained simiply for these people.

Keep in mind these God fearing people already believe photos of Earth from space are fake, and they can't grasp that the horizon is relative to your height.

We wish to book a flight from Capetown to Jakarta.

A simple flight plane search yields stops at Dubai, sometimes Hong Kong, sometimes Singapur.

The coordinates on earth are formed by two angles - lattitude and longitude. Latitude is defined to be 0° on the equator and goes up to 90° on the north pole and -90° on the equator. What are the main arguments supporting the theory of the flat Earth? I've heard arguments from several sides over the past year and they both are pretty convincing, but I'd like to know the scientific arguments supporting the flat Earth that makes it convincing to do many people.

Since Newton's equation for for displacement is: [math]v=ut-1/2at^2[/math], and since acceleration is a vector, doesn't that mean the acceleration is constant throughout the whole earth, and as a result, the earth has to be flat?

This is just more proof that since the late 1800s the government have been trying to trick people in believing in a round earth, as even newton knew that the earth was flat.

If intelligence comes from skepticism and coming to conclusions based on your own observations and evidence to back up such observations, then who is the smarter person?
