Scientists do not operate in a vacuum. They are dependent on the politicians to get funding. And thus they will say what will give them more money.

There is probably two mechanism at play here. Yes, if you are in sunlight, you will also be able to see at long distances. But also, the sunlight is so bright, that there is enough light for you to actually be able to focus at long distances.

Im not quite sure what the mechanism is. One theory is that it is the gut microbiome that influences mood. Like if you have sugar cravings, it can be the bacteria excreting substances that make you crave sugar, while in reality its the bacteria that wants it.

I think at least toxoplasmosis gondii is a well studied parasite that alters your behaviour.

My personal experience when owning a cat is that i really Loved cats at that time. If i saw one, i just wanted to hug it.

But now i do not get the same feeling. Was thiis due to the parasite? Who knows.

Maybe, but people have had mixed results with it. The Endmyopia movement recomrnds that you wear 0.25 diopter lower glasses than your prescription, and then practice "active focus" over time your eyes will adapt and after 3 months you can decrease the diopters 0.25 more.

Decrease close up time, and move your computer screen as faar away as when you start to see blurr, and practice active focus on it.

Did you know that there is a strong case to be made that mental disorders like autism, schizophrenia, adhd etc are a disease of the gut rather than the brain?
Under the assumption that this is true, there is a cure:

Do you think that conventional medicin will ever figure this out?

No blood tests available. But do you have digestive issues? Like certain foods you cant handle that give you pains, bloating, constipation or the shits?

This is an indication that you have the first stages of mental illness.

Yes, its because they "trust the science" that happens to be wrong about nutrition. Maybe the classical scientific method of isolating parameters, like: cholesterol is found in clogged arteries, thus stop eating colesterol and start eating sugars and emulsifiers instead doesent work. And instead you need to look at the body as a holistic ecosystem.

Agreed. Its most likely due to poor nutrition. They have been pushing a low fat, seed oil and sugar rich diet as "healthy", which has destroyed the digestive ecosystem.

But there is a cure

Exactly. If you are a real scientist, you know the limitations of what Science can and cannot answer and how important debating scientific reaults are.

If you follow the cult of "scientism", you are not allowed to question the high priests.

Because to "trust the science" is un-scientific.

Also, I think what the sceptic movement is missing is that the "science" also have to align with your observations of the world. Sure these observations are subject to bias, but they are still a valuable datapoint that they compleatly disregard in order to push their world view.

I would say no. The only thing peer review can ad is a bit of a debate about the validity of the experiments and the theory explaining the results.

I would say that when you are not allowed to debate a theory, then it will quickly devolve into pseudoscience

Learning to trade means that you need to learn a deep understanding of what mooves markets. This is quick but more of a gamble.

Learning to invest means that you need to understand what makes assets valuable and how this value will grow over time. This takes time, but is more of a skill you can develope. And any skill you have can help you in your investments

You become rich by investing. Not by working.
Get as much of a well paying job as possible.
Decrease your standard of living as much as possible (live in a van or something)
Invest the excess capital in something you understand well.

Else you could also join a tech startup who probably offers stock options to the people working there. But first you have to vet which company is a scam or not.

This! Very much this! The inverted order makes no sence. You compleatly loose the context of why you are learning a certain subject.

Also the over emphethis on math in STEM education scares away good engineers that just dont want to build stuff.
