Why is it all so pointless /sci/?
We'll find an unifying theory and then what?
It will tell us how the Universe behaves. It will never tell us what the fuck it is.
It won't change that we live and die without a fucking clue what it is about. This didn't change since we were cavemen despite technological progress.
We're all stuck asking ourself what, if anything, happens when we die. And no amount of science nor religion will solve that.
I know it sounds nihilistic as fuck, but I can't help myself.
There is no rule that says a Universe should exist at all. It's just that it does. And it makes no sense that there is one.

How bad is a B in Physics I if I want to get into graduate school?

I have an A in all of my classes but it looks like this semester I will be getting a B in Physics. I'm taking 18 credits, commute an hour away, have a job, etc and I had one exam that was bad enough that I probably won't be getting better than a B in physics I. Does this matter in the long run? If I get an A in all of my upper level chemistry classes, will graduate schools assume those upper level chem classes were less rigorous considering I got a B in Physics I?

Imagine being the man on the far left.
You spend your entire life studying your ass off, getting into a top school, studying your ass off even more, and going through extraneous PhD work to write, present, and get your thesis accepted. Finally, you get accepted into your dream job: working for NASA. This is it. You're going to take part in the kind of work that got us to the Moon and will get us to Mars. You're among the best and brightest in the country.
Or so you think.
You start working there and realize all of the white women are more worried about who says what pronouns, words, or culturally appropriated phrases. You spend days working on equations, take it to Jade to proof read, only for Jade to just throw the paper to the side and ask whether you feel safe as an African American in the work place and what they can do to make you feel more welcome. Instead of discussing the different theories behind interstellar travel, unlimited energy sources, and the possibility of colonizing the Moon, lunch is spent talking about how intersectional feminism be affected by living in space for a week. You begin to realize your research means nothing and that your co-workers are only there due to HR hiring people who remind them of themselves.
You begin to sit alone at work.
You don't interact with anyone.
Your work has no meaning
All of those years, wasted.
You refuse to be a part of their team pic when you're supposed to be working rocket propulsion.
Finally, you get back to your cramp apartment one night and take a long look in the mirror. In the year you've been working there, nothing has been accomplished.
You reach for the cyanide pill you stole from the astronaut supply room while your co-workers argued about how Von Braun was a Nazi shitlord white male who just stole the idea of rocketry from a woman.
You end it tonight, and for once in your life, you are at peace.
That is what it is like to work at NASA.

Is there anyone on here who can top my 5 years in university (4 year bachelors + 1 year masters) while not having learnt a single thing? I got a good grade btw.

This rant won't be understood by most of you because you're lower class plebs who think that you go to university to learn "Skill A" and "Skill B" etc. and apply those skills in "Job A" and "Job B'.

I picked engineering as a know nothing 17 year old because I was told it was a mix of maths and science. I picked my home town university while not knowing the differences in uni standards, though my one is ranked fairly well on the world scale.

Engineering is a shitty mish mash of science and stamp collecting that is only praised by lower class plebs who think that engineering gets you loads of.money (they go to universities too shitty to have investment banking / management consulting companies advertising on campus). the only reason that engineering has a reputation for being difficult is because idiots who think " omg Calc 2 is so difficult!!1" take it. In respectable universities where everybody goes in with perfect school grades, engineering has ZERO reputation as a difficult degree. Maybe more donkey work, but not more difficult work.

>I fell for the Noopept meme

I kept seeing great stuff on here and reddit about it, so I decided to order 5g from a reputable supplier. I just measured out 10mg and poured it under my tongue and held it for 10 min. It didn't dissolve very well. I washed the rest down with a glass of milk.

I definitely don't feel sharper or smarter at all. In fact, I feel more retarded for falling for the Nootropics meme.
