Congratulations, anon. You either have a serious sleeping disorder or don't understand the concept of a circadian rhythm, causing your sleep to constantly be fucked up.
For the record, going to bed at random times will confuse and stress your endocrine system by virtue of having it ad-lib the production. This is the reason for your cognitive impairment, health issues, and so forth.
Keep a fucking schedule. Here's my advice as a doctor:
1.) Go to bed at a set time (before 10 PM, if possible)
2.) No artificial lights 3 hours before bedtime
3.) Get lots of light in your early awake hours
4.) Exercise
If none of these work, get checked for a sleeping disorder.

AdS/CFT shows that string theory and QFT are so connected to one another that they are basically the same thing, and even in experimental particle physics, there have been string techniques applied for making predictions (QGP and others). The fact is that if you are studying QCD or the standard model (real physics) it has been demonstrated that string theory has a real connection. Just because two theories are dual to one another does not mean the simpler one is real and the more complicated one is vetoed by Popper shit. mathematically there are real connections and that opens a whole 'nother toolkit for making experimental predictions. Just because you and some internet bloggers don’t appreciate that this connection is there doesn’t mean all the top experts are wrong and the whole study of this new toolbox should stop. On the contrary, buttblasted bloggers like you should be a prime example of how self-identified “smart internet commentators” can be completely ignorant of obvious things that show how ST is definitely opening new doors even on “ordinary” physics

I forgot to mention the human factor. I hung out with pretty smart people during my undergrad and thought everyone was like them for some time. With less fortitude this could get you down rather than push you to work harder. Combine that with the reality bending effects of depression and some ego destruction not validating youself as a smart gal™ and maybe that's an explanation.
