Stranger: yes.
You: I don't approve of such methods.
Stranger: i have an interest in the israeli-palistianian issue i suppose.
Stranger: i'm more read in politics than science, i confess, but science has captivated me in recent years.
Stranger: i just must confess my ignorance in a lot of scientific areas.
You: Are you telling me....
You: That you don't know about the differential shape of the cosmos as dictated by General Relativity?
You: I am shocked and appalled.
You: But you should take things into perspective.
You: Most people I talk to are not only ignorant, but rather hostile towards science.
Stranger: heh.
Stranger: yes.
Stranger: well, i have had to sit through fundamentalist church sermons.
Stranger: so i'm well aware of ignorance greater than my own.
Stranger: and the suspicion of science in general is a great shame.
Stranger: my father is, although not a christian as such, a new age, homeopathy-believing, astrology-believing fellow.

I have been taking some general courses at community college and next semester I will be going to a state school to pursue a degree in engineering. The problem is that I am not sure what kind of engineering I want to go into, I am only sure that I want to be an engineer.

The school has a great aerospace program, but that may be too difficult for me. I don't know if I'll want to go into civil though, since that may be too easy.

Please help!
