The short answer is that we are biologically programmed at a base level to accumulate and expand.

The longer one is that men are driven at an instinctual level to want to reproduce and transmit their genes to the next generation (sex drive). To do that they have to compete with other men for women (since women are sexual selectors in nature).

Women select men based on their abilities to provide for their offspring the highest chance of survival and capacity to prosper, this means "primal" characteristics like strength, vigor, health, etc... but more sophisticated ones too like status or the amount of capital a man owns (which is the thing interesting us here).

Economic growth is merely the output of this eternal competition between males to qualify as providers and get the best women.
If there is no opportunity for economic growth young men are then put out of opportunity to compete for women in a peaceful environment which is a breeding ground for violence, instability and societal collapse.

Today we are seeing this happen in a vicious manner as many young men out of opportunities are considered "unworthy" by economically empowered women who end up well in their 30s alone and childless because their subsconscious tell them the "candidates" are trash.

their entire belief is unsound and it all boils down to their subjective pessimism and self hatred.
natural selection and sexual selection are a scientific fact and those have been a part of human culture and society since ever. it's not an impending depressing doom that will end humanity, it's just a feature that maintains humanity.
you want women? be competent. there is no savior angel that will love you unconditionally and pull you out the shit you are in.
you are beyond saving? nature is unfair but if you reproduce you will pass this suffering to another generation so you can either self loath and hate humanity or you can consider it a sacrifice for the better good.
