Just gonna repost this here, because /v/ is having a meltdown over it, and keep getting 26 as an answer.

Have fun!

I recently graduated with a BA in math, and I fit some CS courses in there while also learning Russian. Now I'm looking for work; what can I realistically do now that will earn me loadsemoney? I don't care if it costs me my soul.

Assume I have [math]K[/math] numbered boxes, each of them containing some green balls and some red balls such that if I pick a ball at random I have probability of say [math]p[/math] to pick a green ball. Now I will start at the first box and pick a ball at random, if it's green I will put it back and move onto the next box to do the same, etc. I will continue doing this until I pick a red ball, in which case I put it back and start all over at the first box. The game is done after I've picked a green ball from the [math]K_{th}[/math] box, which obviously needs me to pick [math]K[/math] green balls in a row.

What is the probability distribution [math]P(n)[/math] where [math]n[/math] is the TOTAL amount of balls I've ever picked after the game is done?

Find the absolute value of -5 + 3.

You should be able to solve this

A high school has 4657 students and 4657 lockers, all of which are closed. The students line up and walk one at a time down the hall that contains the lockers. The first student opens all the lockers. The second student closes every other locker starting with the second one. The third student changes (closes if opened, opens of closed) every third locker starting with the third. The fourth student changes every fourth locker starting with the fourth. This pattern continues until all 4657 students have passed through the hallway.

In the end, how many lockers are open?

Hi /sci/,

(10A + B) * C = (10D + E)
(10D + E) + (10F + G) = (10H + I)

Every variable (from A to I) is a number in range 1 to 9 (a digit except 0).
Every number is represented only once (nine variables - nine different numbers).
This has only one solution.

This thread is going to be about stupid random math/science questions.

I'll start with an example, which is also my question.

How come sin(cos(tan(x)) always is .01745? What's so special about that number?

Also, is there any particular reason that the order always is sin, cos, tan, on any calculator/book? Or is it just the way it happened?

A point P is given outside of a circle Γ. A tangent from P to Γ touches Γ at T with PT=24. A line from P cuts Γ at the 2 points A,B. If PA=9, what is the length of PB?

The acceleration due to gravity on planet X is
one fifth that on the surface of the earth.
If it takes 4.3 s for an object to fall a certain
distance from rest on earth, how long would
it take to fall the same distance on planet X?
