Capitalism too is inherently violent, as there is no way to protect private property without the use of force. And from a socialist point of view, the passive profit made from owning a workplace is state-sanctioned theft from the workers.

As for the point about hierarchy, I think we can agree that money is power under capitalism. This means society gives power to those who can develop one specific skill: making as much money as possible. Of course you're going to have people like Elon Musk who made their money by making genuinely positive contributions to society, but for every Elon you have a dozen people like Don Blankenship, Fred C. Koch, Martin Shkreli, Jordan Belfort, etc.

Without the yoke of capital, individuals could only rise in status and power by contributing to the well being of their communities and to society as a whole.The most influential members of society would necessarily be the people whose efforts have done the most to build a better world for themselves, their families, and the world.
