Picard's Theorem: If a function f: C -> C is entire and non-constant, then the set of values that f(z) assumes is either the whole complex plane or the plane minus a single point.

But f(z) = e^(e^z) is entire and misses 0 and 1.

Useful for adding whole numbers in a sequence, where X=first number of the sequence and Y=last number of the sequence, and assuming no numbers are skipped.

[(X+Y)/2]*(Y-X+1)

I came up with this while taking a shower and counting tiles, assuming each tile had its own number. It's cute.

I guess if you wanted to do the same with decimals, you could just divide by an additional 10 per decimal added.

cos(theta)/sqrt(3) = sin(theta)
cos(theta) = sqrt(3)*cos(theta - pi/2)

Solve for theta.

I know the answer is pi/6, but I'd like to see the actual steps. Trial and error is not a valid method.

NOT DOING YOUR HOMEWORK FOR YOU

There's so much help on the internet that involves you actually learning something instead of getting us to do it for you. You're not gonna pass your exams if you rely on /sci/ the whole time.

WTF /sci/ how and why the hell do people actually believe karma exists? If it existed my entire body should be burning due to something horrible like acid while someone rips my teeth out with pliers and stomps on my face. Instead I feels pretty good, man. I also have to laugh at crybabies who don't stand up for themselves when treated like shit and instead just whine and say, "Karma is a bitch." Then nothing happens to their enemy and I LOL.

WTF is all this science fan talk of inherrent randomness in QM. We dont know this yet!

I dont care if you saw it on your favorite sci-fi show - there are still several competing and equally valid theories on QM. Some are deterministic some arnt

Ok, so my teacher just created a new rule for our Labs. No matter what the topic, we must logically end up with the answer: 0 = 0

How do I do this with, say, a biology of psychology problem?

/sci/ is starting to be a hold-out for people from other places but as long as we behave nicely...

I need to remember the name of this sci-fi movie and /tv/ didn't answer it.

There is this mission on Mars and some guys are walking around on the planet in high-tech suits looking for something.
At one point they are out if air. One takes of his helmet when out and finds out there is air on Mars to breath.
And something about on of them exploding because of some bug? Big blue explosion seen from orbit.

Hope one of you guys can remember it.
