Something that no longer exists is more likely to destroy civilization than something that exists right now and is steadily worsening? No, Soviet tier economic planning is the only way to save the world. Unlike soviet planning which aimed to maximize productive capacity through central planning, the new system will aim to minimize carbon use through central planning.
