I want to make a hobby out of math and science. I figure I need to dedicate a few hours each week to studying to make it happen. I always scored really high on math portions of standardized tests, but if you asked me to show you a theorem or do a proof I couldn't.

Where do I start?

hey guys so i got three simple number sequences I solved the the first two but can solve the las one. If you guys have any idead I'd appreciate it
1 4=10
2 5=14
6 10=40
9 11=30
Here are the other sequences Im sure you can solve them but ill leave the answers below just in case
2,1,3,4,7,11,18,29

Second sequence
0123 1
9081 4
5732 0
6591 2
6194 3


(answer for the first sequence is Xn=Xn-2+Xn-1)
(Second one is really dumb, u just count the holes in the numbers)

I need another math topic to talk about for my demonstration speech for my speech class. Nothing too complicated. Everyone there at best has only taken math up to college algebra.

I was going to do it on the golden ratio but then I found out it's aesthetic qualities are a myth. I feel like an idiot now. I'm not good at talking, so I thought this was something perfect, I could derive it on the marker board and explain it as I did so, then give a demonstration on how to apply this number to painting, interior design, etc..
