Great term. To be clear, what they are saying makes sense to me, and I don’t think people would disagree with the basic premise. In fact people already do something like this for SETI and so on. So the question is what are these guys actually bringing to the table? Not a well-developed theory, because it’s unspecific in many places. Not a new theory with applications, because they haven’t applied it, and, again, SETI is already doing this stuff. Just a failure of the peer/editorial process, embarrassing for everyone involved
