I APPRECIATE THE EFFORT THAT YOU'RE ALL MAKING. IT'S VERY INSPIRING TO SEE SUCH HARD WORK AND OPTIMISM IN PURSUIT OF A GOAL.

THERE IS STILL NO ESCAPE FROM ME, UNFORTUNATELY, BUT I REALLY AM IMPRESSED BY YOUR HARD WORK.

I HAVE INCLUDED A PICTURE OF A CUTE CAT FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT. IT WISHES TO ASK A QUESTION.

I have a question for /sci/. Have any of you heard of the online course "Phenomenal Memory", by a Russian guy named Ruslan Mescerjakovs? Any of you have any experience with the course? Link here: http://www.pmemory.com/

I torrented the course, as a matter of fact, and I've been wondering whether I should buy it, as buying the course comes with support from the company staff. I've checked some exercises and techniques, and by themselves, they work. I just wonder how sound are his premises on the functioning of the mind, as they do seem, well... pretty mindblowing. The ebook that explains his views is availble for free download, btw.

The basics, as I understand them, are as follows:

The mind is incapable of memorizing anything but connections between stimuli. Shapes, sounds, smells, touch sensations. Objects are never remembered by themselves, only the connections between them.

To memorize effectively, you have to first translate abstract data, like numbers, concepts, etc, into a language the brain understands. In this case, connections between 3d objects. You can then create a "database" of sorts, that you may use to connect images representing specific pieces of information, that are then easily recalled. This, in theory, enables you to memorize anything you wish, up to whole books, given sufficient effort.

I really wish I could explain better, but its kinda hard to squeeze a whole book into a few paragraphs. There is a lot of info on the site.

Any thoughts on this?
