Ofc i'm talking about small codes, depending on what you're coding there's nothing wrong to give "real" names to variable.

But say i'm implementing a sorting algorithm, why the hell should i bother thinking of a 'proper' variable name and then typing it when i can just name it 'd' or whatever?

Have to take stats for my major. Any reason to take biostats over regular stats? It doesn't really fit my schedule as well.

/sci/, what's the best programming language to learn?

I just completed an intro to programming class last semester, and surprisingly I enjoyed it (it was MATLAB). I want to continue coding, but I was wondering if it was best to continue in MATLAB or start a more general language.

I might not be doing this for a major, I'm not sure yet. Right now I'm just a guy interested in it.
