nice, good to hear from an actual researcher on the topic.
I'm not one to claim that "the science is settled" in any fine detail; I just referenced Shakun et al. as evidence that warming can and does follow (rather than lead) CO2 rise some of the time. For some reason the deniers have decided that this never happens ever, so I'm just using it as a quick and easy counterexample.

I'm starting my masters next September. Possibly PhD after that, but you need masters before PhD here in euroland. I really want to fucking ace all my shit for this so I have a better chance of getting in a good PhD programme. I was wondering if you guys that are not low grade tards usually study ahead before the academic year starts? I was thinking of just downloading the books used in the courses and working through the syllabus from this academic year for some of the harder courses to get an edge. What strategy do you employ usually, just prepping the first courses that come up in the year first or only prepping the harder ones even though they might come later in the year?

He has a channel with many videos on YouTube. Just watch the few most viewed and you should get a rough but fairly accurate idea. Come back after you've done that and still have questions.

As a physics undergrad I can confirm you need a lot of programming. I'm doing my final project right now and the PhDs and professors in my group use python extensively, as well as MATLAB for menial tasks and C++ for the big gun simulations. Note that we only got educated in MATLAB so everyone expects you to learn the other languages within a week or two. The level they expect you to operate on is much higher than CS or whatever joke degree they call informatics these days, where you get semester courses on specific programming languages, where in my physics labs they expect you to be able to tag along from autodidactic skills alone.

So yeah.
