There exists signaling cascades that are activated by agonists activating receptors on your body. If you can master the cascade by identifying its components you can effectively manipulate it at your will. The challenge lies in identifying all aspects of these cascades and how they influence one another. In addition, understanding the organic structures that target specifics of these components to get a desired effect in the cell. Biology may seem to be memorization at first, but once you dive deeper into it and realize the potential to manipulate life, its becomes quite the godly science.
