an out of left field interpretation.

He was actually quoted stanza 369 from his highschool math textbook Theoriae philosophia naturalis (pictured reading in iconic photo)

Rather fascinating quote that touches on the idea of rapid impulse. Which he than extends to that sci-fi tool that lets the thief walk though walls into the safe.

I add this because tesla, even though contributing heavily to the production of the AC motor, pretty much abandoned it entirely to chase after exploring impulse electricity, to which he called radiant energy.
